WHY YOU SHOULD TRY A PARKRUN
If you want a welcoming way to be more active, new stats show this could be it!
Parkrun began 14 years ago, with just 13 runners. The free 5K runs take place all over the UK and now attract around 250,000 people every week. And they’re not just for fitties; in 2005 the average finish time was 22:16. It’s got slower every year and, last year, it was 29:06, proving that everyone is welcome. It’s sociable, free and inclusive. Check www. parkrun.org.uk to find your local event. You can walk it, push a buggy around it, and kids can get involved too, as four to 14-year-olds can run a 2K course. Try it this weekend!
