They announced T their engagement in January, after three years together – and last week, Gwyneth Paltrow and TV producer Brad Falchuk revealed they’d tied the knot before a host of famous faces. The actress, 46, confirmed the secret nuptials, which took place at her home in New York’s Hamptons, by posting a snap of the pair’s matching gold wedding bands on Instagram. According to reports, white marquees had been erected in the grounds of Gwyneth’s sprawling estate, while a band carrying string instruments were spotted arriving on the couple’s big day. Two dining tables, which were covered in flowers and white candles, were set up for the reported 70 guests, including Cameron Diaz and her husband Benji Madden, as well as actors Rob Lowe and Robert Downey Jr. and stand-up comedian Jerry Seinfeld, who had apparently hosted the couple’s rehearsal dinner the night before in his Hamptons’ home. After the ceremony, Gwyn’s mum, actress Blythe Danner, reportedly told photographers, “It was gorgeous – the most beautiful wedding I’ve ever seen.”
Despite reports that first husband Chris Martin – father to Apple, 14 and 12-year-old Moses – was set to give her away, the Coldplay frontman was busy performing at the global Citizen Festival in New York City.
Gwyneth, who eloped with Chris in December 2003, had previously revealed she was excited to walk down the aisle with Brad, 47, as she hadn’t been able to enjoy the full experience first time around.
“I’m excited about everything! I’ve never had a wedding before. So even though I’m 45, I sort of feel like a 21-year-old,” she admitted. “I think there’s something really beautiful about marriage.”
