Tour Google Earth

Computer Active (UK) - - Contents -

Earlier this year the Google Earth Android app was updated with a few handy features, including spectacular virtual tours. Recently, the IOS app received these features via an update. Open Google Earth (Android www. snipca.com/25610; IOS www.snipca. com/25611) on your phone or tablet.

You’ll notice a new menu on the left. Next, tap the Voyager icon (a boat’s steering wheel) at the top left. You’ll now see different sections (Travel, Nature, Culture, History, etc) with their own virtual tours (there are over 100 available). Select the tour you want, then tap Start Exploring.

We selected the Magnificent Palaces tour in the History section. You’ll see these palaces as pins on the Earth. The app will zoom into the first one and you’ll see a summary of it on the right. You can zoom in and out of the left-hand side of the screen to see a more detailed view of the palace.

You can even tap the pegman (see screenshot above), then drag it to any point on your map to see what that area would look like if you were standing there. Tap the arrow at the bottom right to go to the next palace, where you can repeat this process.
