Nokia BPM+

-

Nokia is the new owner of Withings, a well-established health-tech company. Its Health Mate app annoyed Withings’ long-term users by failing to support some features that they previously relied on, but looking at it now we have to say it’s pretty impressive.

You get a nice clear chart of your blood pressure over time (multiple users are supported) and it can also track your activity, sleep patterns and more, depending on what other fitness devices you own. The catch is that the app is the only display for the BPM+, so a phone or tablet is required. On the plus side, the screenless meter is a single silver cylinder that attaches directly to the cuff and rolls up with it for carrying, which is very convenient.

It’s not cheap, but this feels like something you could actually enjoy owning and using rather than a clunky old medical device, and that’s to be welcomed.
