Newer programs can be just as risky as older ones if they haven’t been updated for some time. Some programs automatically check for updates, but others don’t, and keeping all your programs updated manually is a hassle.

Thankfully, there are tools that can do this for you, such as Kaspersky’s free Software Updater ( www.snipca. com/25872), which detects your software and installs any available updates. But it’s also worth trying SUMO which may not have Kaspersky’s award-winning credentials, but updates a wider variety of programs. It’s free from www.snipca. com/25873 – click the blue ‘Download’ button (see screenshot), not ‘Get SUMO Pro’. Once the tool has scanned for installed programs, click Check, select the programs you want to update, then click Get Update.
