Want a basic phone? Buy Vodafone Smart E8
I was in the same predicament as Jean Coogan (Letters, Issue 513), who felt she had to buy a smartphone to do the basic things in modern society, like paying for parking. Unlike some people in my family, I didn’t want to spend a fortune on an idevice, so I bought a Vodafone Smart E8 for just £49 ( www.snipca. com/25999, pictured). My grandchildren couldn’t believe I got it so cheaply, which made me feel rather proud.
I have no idea whether it’s considered a good phone, but I’m happy with it. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a modern phone, but hasn’t got money to burn – particularly if they want to earn the respect of their tech-obsessed grandchildren!
CA says Heather’s right that the Vodafone Smart E8 is a great choice for people who want a cheap, basic phone. See our review on page 29.
