I wish to come to the defence of Vodafone, which is frequently cited for its poor customer service. I’ve been a customer of Vodafone for 20 years and I stay with it because I’ve had nothing but excellent service for all that time.
For example, some years ago I received a new phone which had a faulty battery. It was replaced via a courier within 24 hours. A year ago I was ready to upgrade to a new model and was offered a 10 per cent reduction on the monthly contract price without any prompting.
My most recent experience was when a short text to my sister in Italy was charged four times on one bill – a quick phone call to customer services resulted in a credit for all four charges.
I believe the manner in which complaints are dealt with is down to the customer’s approach. Be polite, have all the facts and figures to hand and mostly you will achieve a satisfactory outcome.
