In Issue 513, we explained some of the best new features of IOS 11 (see Secret Tips, page 48). Another new feature we didn’t cover is the option to record whatever you do on your device as a video. To do this, open Settings, tap Control Centre, then Customise Controls. Now tap the green ‘+’ button beside Screen Recording to add this option to your Control Centre.

To record your screen, swipe up from the bottom of it to open the Control Centre, then tap the Screen Recording button (see screenshot below). You’ll see a three-second countdown timer after which whatever you do on your screen will be recorded as a video.

To stop recording, open your Control Centre, then tap the red Screen Recording icon. You’ll then see a notification saying your video has been saved to the Photos app. Open this to play the video or share it.
