Half of all chil­dren aged 11 and 12 have a so­cial­me­dia ac­count de­spite the min­i­mum age typ­i­cally be­ing 13, ac­cord­ing to a new Of­com re­port ( www. snipca.com/26379). It found that four in 10 par­ents have let their chil­dren set up an ac­count on sites like Face­book, In­sta­gram and Snapchat be­fore reach­ing 13. The NSPCC called for the Govern­ment to take ac­tion, ac­cus­ing sites of “turn­ing a blind eye” to the prob­lem.
