By sug­gest­ing the Kin­dle app as a means of making your tablet an ebook reader (Work­shop, Is­sue 515, page 42), you com­pletely over­look the

pos­si­bil­ity of bor­row­ing of ebooks from li­braries. All that is needed is Over­drive ( www.over­drive.com, see screen­shot be­low) or Adobe Dig­i­tal Edi­tions ( www. snipca.com/26318). Set­ting up can be a bit de­mand­ing, but the abil­ity to read any­thing you bor­row (rather than any­thing you buy) more than com­pen­sates. I download li­brary books on the PC with Dig­i­tal Edi­tions and load them on to my Kobo. My wife down­loads to her ipad Mini us­ing Over­drive. Leon Wil­liams
