Meet the sponsors

As we are busy counting votes in the Food and Drink Awards – we find out more about our sponsor and the venue to this year’s awards: Carbis Bay Estate

Cornwall Life - - FOOD & DRINK -

The Cornwall Life Food & Drink Awards brings together Carbis Bay’s passions – Cornwall and locally-sourced Cornish produce. Carbis Bay will host a reception for the winners of the Cornwall Life Food and Drink 2018 awards on 1 November. The winners will be announced in the December issue.

Set within 125 acres, the

Carbis Bay Estate sits against the backdrop of their privately owned 25-acre Blue Flag beach – recognised as one of the most beautiful bays in the world.

Carbis Bay Estate comprises the luxury Carbis Bay Hotel with 47 individually designed rooms, boasting sea or garden views, as well as a range of self-catering accommodation, serviced apartments, suites and Lodges. The hotel rooms are inspired by their scenic coastal surroundings, as reflected through the tonal colour schemes and beachside chic décor. Owned and managed by the Baker family, Carbis Bay Hotel exudes a truly indulgent home away from home atmosphere.

Nearby sister hotel The

Gannet Inn features 16 boutique bedrooms, many with soaring sea views. The estate’s brand new lodges offer the ultimate luxury stay with complete seclusion, private beach and roof gardens with hot tub, contemporary stylish interiors and floor-toceiling windows showcasing extraordinary sea views. Guests can indulge in a range of unique lodge services including guest host, in-lodge spa treatments, private lodge barbecues and in-lodge dining provided by the estate’s chefs.

Food and drink is at the heart of the Carbis Bay Estate – with menus bursting with locally sourced, fresh seasonal produce from Cornish producers, and fish and shell fish landed at nearby St Ives. From the homely Hungry Gannet, where guests can enjoy a hearty British menu created by AA Rosette-winning chefs, through to the laid-back Beach Club, where diners can look out over the everchanging seas with a family-friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Up at The Sands, fine dining and an extensive range of cocktails, wines and aperitifs come together for an awardwinning experience – or enjoy a light lunch in the conservatory.
