FIRST WORLD WAR EXHIBITION

Cornwall Life - - COUNTRYSIDE LIFE -

Not many people are aware that the National Trust’s Cotehele House near Saltash is a war memorial. To commemorate the centenary of the First World War this year there is an exhibition of personal items loaned to Cotehele by members of the local community.

The exhibition in the Breakfast Room of the house has the theme

inspired by the Wilfred Owen poem. To coincide with the exhibition and the annual Christmas garland in the Great Hall at Cotehele is an artwork by West Country artist Dominique Coiffait, inspired by the ebb and flow of life in Cotehele garden which will wind around the walls of the Great Hall.
