Flowers WITH EVERYTHING

-

We’ve skirted around the edible-flower trend for a while now, mainly because eating household plants was something your mother tended to tell you off about when you were a kid. But what started as a solitary nasturtium flower on a salad has turned into a full-blown Garden of Eden situation scattered on your threecourse meal – your cocktail/salad/dessert will just look plain wrong now without a floral garnish. Jamavar, London’s hottest new restaurant, serves them with everything. Executive head chef Rohit Ghai says the best ones to use are roses (trim off the base of the petal) with champagne cocktails, mustard flowers for your salads and violas to dress up your dessert.
