HYBRID HOOCH Drink up
Some combinations in life are so wrong they turn out to be mystifyingly so right. We give you jam-andcheese toasties (trust us), Doc Martens and slip dresses (thanks, Marc Jacobs), and the romantic misnomer that is Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden. Well, now there’s another to add to the list: progrigio – prosecco and pinot grigio, available, pre-mixed, from Asda. Sure, it sounds like lunacy, but the trend for fusing drinks is coming (Jack Daniel’s has mixed cider with whisky; and vodquila is sadly a thing). Fancy making your own? Our friends at London’s Manetta’s Bar suggest this: 30ml of cognac, 30ml of red wine, 30ml of apricot liqueur and a dash of cherry bitters. Garnish with grapes. And maybe some Nurofen.
