The problem: A COLD

WHEN EVERYONE IN THE OFFICE HAS ONE Garlic Not just an old wives’ tale. There’s now science to back up the smelly, cold-busting benefits of garlic. In a study published by the Cochrane Library, adults who received a placebo came down with nearly three times as many colds as those who had a daily garlic supplement. That order of garlic bread? Now justifiable.

IF IT’S HIT HARD Kiwi Your grandma’s chicken soup has a rival. A study by the British Journal Of Nutrition took 132 adults and placed half on a daily diet that included four gold kiwi fruits, while the other half had two daily bananas. The result? The kiwi eaters’ sore throats eased away three days sooner than the banana group. You can pick up a pack of golden kiwis (they’re yellow on the inside, rather than green) from most major supermarkets.
