First thing you do when you wake up in the morning? This is going to sound so American, but I have affirmations I read every morning. I wrote them to get into a positive mindset.

Last thing you do before you go to bed? Read books. I recently finished The Hypnotist’s Love Story by Liane Moriarty, and now want to read everything by her.

What TV show do you binge on? The comedy Insecure with Issa Rae – she’s really funny.

The last film that made you cry? Mudbound – it’s so disturbing.

What song’s guaranteed to get you on the dancefloor? Anything by Rihanna or Michael Jackson.

What’s on your workout playlist? Everything my yoga teacher plays, like Le Vent Nous Portera by Sophie Hunger. What book is on your bedside table? Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng.

The last thing you bought? A flavoured Rinse Bath & Body Co lip balm. They do all these different flavours, like Latte. I’m addicted.

Current wallpaper on your phone? A beach that I love in Mexico. It makes me calm just looking at it.

Favourite emoji? I have two – the one that looks really anxious with the bulging eyes, and also the one sticking its tongue out.

What’s your go-to takeaway? My vegan friends will hate me for this, but it’s In-N-Out Burger.

The last thing you googled? The actress Hong Chau. I watched her in the movie Downsizing.

When was the last time you were star-struck? When I met Kumail Nanjiani, from The Big Sick. I love comedians.

Who was the last person you followed on Instagram? Anybody who came out as being sexually harassed [following the Weinstein allegations]. I admire them so much.

The last account you unfollowed on Instagram? I always unfollow a company when I find out that it’s doing a gross or immoral thing.

Heather wrote, directed and stars in the forthcoming film Half Magic
