Wildlife photography special

Cotswold Life - - CONTENTS -

Last year we ran a photography competition in association with Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust celebrating the diverse natural world in this beautiful area. Images were then selected from the winners and runnersup to appear in our 2017 calendar.

The overall winner Ian Boyd, with his wonderful hares photograph, not only won the honour of appearing on the cover of the calendar, but also a weekend stay at Eckington Manor and a personalised workshop with top wildlife photographer, Iain Green of Wild Wonder Photography.

The images you see here are the result of Ian’s stay at the manor, and his indisputable talent for capturing the flora and fauna that share the grounds with guests.

I took this burdock thistle in a sunny glade against shadows behind. Thistles may be a troublesome weed in most situations but they are great for insects.
