Award-win­ning Bris­tol-based In­dian street food chain Thali has opened its first restau­rant out­side its home city. The 90-seat Thali Ox­ford is the com­pany’s sixth restau­rant and the menu looks to In­dia for in­spi­ra­tion, from the back streets of Delhi to the beach shacks of Goa, with dishes in­clud­ing Ker­alan nan­dan chicken and Pun­jabi pa­neer. Thali started as a street food truck at Glas­ton­bury Fes­ti­val in 1999 af­ter founder Jim Pizer trav­elled to In­dia and fell in love with the food. It is also one of the first In­dian restau­rants in the UK to win a Three Star Sus­tain­abil­ity Cham­pion Rat­ing from the Sus­tain­able Restau­rant As­so­ci­a­tion.
