Food News: Hywel Jones at Lucknam Park
Award-winning Bristol-based Indian street food chain Thali has opened its first restaurant outside its home city. The 90-seat Thali Oxford is the company’s sixth restaurant and the menu looks to India for inspiration, from the back streets of Delhi to the beach shacks of Goa, with dishes including Keralan nandan chicken and Punjabi paneer. Thali started as a street food truck at Glastonbury Festival in 1999 after founder Jim Pizer travelled to India and fell in love with the food. It is also one of the first Indian restaurants in the UK to win a Three Star Sustainability Champion Rating from the Sustainable Restaurant Association.
