BETTER EARLY THAN LATE…

Last month I made an embarrassing error writing a piece about my silver wedding anniversary. I thought it was this year but as our super sleuth editor kindly pointed out it is in fact next year. I’m still dealing with daily stick from Cotswold Life readers for this. I hate being late for anything. I’d rather be half an hour early for an appointment than get stressed battling the traffic with the prospect of being late. Back in 2013 I got email from the Minsterworth WI inviting me to do a talk in March. I put it in my diary and turned up half an hour early. There was no one anywhere to be seen. I checked my email and realised they had booked me for March 2015. I’d turned up a year early.

YOU WANT ME TO GET YOU SOME WHAT??

In my constant battle to keep on top of the rust on my camper van I was advised by a mechanic friend to buy some special spray. I texted my wife, as she was in town, to pick me up some aerosol wax oil. Predictive text let me down and you can guess the rest.

DID YOU KNOW?

One of the first towns in Europe is thought to be underneath Greystone Farm at Bourton. The farm was taken over by the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust and is being developed into an educational centre. It was an important settlement in the Iron Age .

MY MISSION FOR THIS MONTH…

Since we’ve been celebrating Cotswold Life’s 50th birthday I’ve decided to take on a challenge I’ve been meaning to achieve since I turned 50. I’m going to take Michael Parkinson at his word and get one of those Parker pens “Just for enquiring”.
