Malvern Au­tumn Show in as­so­ci­a­tion with We­stons Cider Mill is back for a boun­ti­ful week­end burst­ing with har­vest fun, hor­ti­cul­tural know-how and fam­ily en­ter­tain­ment on Septem­ber 29-30.

More than 65,000 vis­i­tors are ex­pected to join in the sea­sonal cel­e­bra­tions at the Three Coun­ties Show­ground, si­t­u­ated at the foot of the pic­turesque Malvern Hills.

Head of Shows at Three Coun­ties, Diana Wal­ton, says, “The Malvern Au­tumn Show is a truly sea­sonal af­fair. We are lucky enough to be in the heart of one of the most pro­duc­tive ar­eas of the coun­try, and au­tumn is def­i­nitely our time to shine. Vis­i­tors can ex­pect a bumper show this year with more world records ex­pected in the CANNA UK Na­tional Gi­ant Veg­eta­bles Cham­pi­onship, a brand-new gar­den­ing vil­lage with award­win­ning nurs­eries in the Flower Show, and plenty of our furry and feath­ered friends in the World of An­i­mals. We’re look­ing for­ward to wel­com­ing ev­ery­one to cel­e­brate the very best that au­tumn has to of­fer.”

Show-go­ers will be wowed once again by gar­gan­tuan gourds and monster mar­rows in the awein­spir­ing CANNA UK Na­tional Gi­ant Veg­eta­bles Cham­pi­onship. Re­turn­ing for its fifth year, the cham­pi­onship draws colos­sal crowds and en­trants all ea­gerly await the ver­dict of the of­fi­cial ad­ju­di­ca­tor to see if they can claim the cov­eted World Record ti­tle. This year sees four brand new cat­e­gories: heav­i­est three sticks of rhubarb, heav­i­est kohlrabi, heav­i­est aubergine and long­est radish.

This year also sees the all-new Gar­den­ing Vil­lage host­ing the a Flower Show judged by the RHS that fea­tures more than 30 award-win­ning spe­cial­ist nurs­eries to browse and stock up on old-favourites and brand-new va­ri­eties.

The Au­tumn Po­tager The­atre is an­other new ad­di­tion for 2018. Hosted by pop­u­lar food writer, Mark Di­a­cono and wel­com­ing celebrity chef Valen­tine Warner, the daily talks and demon­stra­tions aim to in­spire vis­i­tors to rus­tle up sea­sonal de­lights and make the most of au­tumn’s bounty.

It’s not just for food lovers though, the charm­ing Gyles Bran­dreth is set to en­ter­tain with his sig­na­ture witty repar­tee and Chris­tine Robin­son, the house­keeper for the renowned Chatsworth House of­fers ad­vice on pre­par­ing the home for Christ­mas.

Gar­den­ing fans can look for­ward to an im­pres­sive line-up with much-loved Gar­den­ers’ World stars Carol Klein and Joe Swift, as well as pop­u­lar flo­ral de­signer Jonathan Moseley.

Al­ways a very fam­ily-friendly event, Malvern Au­tumn Show has an end­less num­ber of ac­tiv­i­ties for both par­ents and young­sters to get stuck into.

From make-and-take crafts, to a vin­tage fun­fair, and pig agility at the World of An­i­mals as well as fly­ball in the arena, there’s never a dull mo­ment. Topped off with some fab­u­lous lunch and snacks in the Food & Drinks Hall, brim­ming with bril­liant lo­cal pro­duce, and you have a packed day to keep the kids thor­oughly en­ter­tained.
