BUILD­ING FRIEND­SHIP CIR­CLES

Build­ing Cir­cles works to trans­form the lives of peo­ple with learn­ing dis­abil­i­ties who are iso­lated and lonely. They cur­rently sup­port over 280 peo­ple with learn­ing dis­abil­i­ties, many with no friends or fam­ily, and only paid staff in their lives. They are a fun and ded­i­cated char­ity who are pas­sion­ate about chang­ing lives.

There are many vol­un­teer op­por­tu­ni­ties avail­able:

• Be­friend­ing – form­ing a one-toone friend­ship with a matched fo­cus per­son and do­ing all the sim­ple things in life that most of us take for granted. • Fundrais­ing – help­ing raise some much needed funds

• Ac­tive Friends – vis­it­ing a fo­cus per­son for a cup of tea/cof­fee as part of your daily run/train­ing rou­tine

• Care to Grow – for the vol­un­teers who love to gar­den, the char­ity has two al­lot­ments in Chel­tenham and Glouces­ter • So­cial Events/ac­tiv­i­ties – go along to help at their reg­u­lar so­cial events where you are guar­an­teed fun, laugh­ter and a slice of cake or two.
