GARDEN NOTES

Country Homes & Interiors - - MODERN COUNTRY -

Huge pompoms of creamy white flowers cover Hydrangea arborescens ‘Annabelle’ from July to early autumn when they fade to a muted lime green, then turn to magical winter seedheads. Plant it en masse in a semishaded border for impact, and don’t let it dry out — the more moisture-retentive the soil, the bigger the flowers. A 9cm pot costs £14 at Hayloft Plants.
