Husband and wife team Krystyna and Paul Castle present this charming shop in Shrewsbury, offering faux floristry and botanicals, lighting and pottery, in a fabulous fusion of boho style with rich dark glamour. Krystyna tells us more...

How would you describe the shop’s style?

It is simply like nowhere else… fab and fun with a touch of boho glam. Our obsession is always to be brave, bold and different. There’s more than a hint of a vintage Parisienne florist about Wyld Home. Minimalism isn’t for us – more is definitely more!

What inspired you to open your shop?

We’ve always wanted to create something unique together and a few months into retirement decided it was now or never. We found a tiny shop on Shrewsbury’s Wyle Cop, a ‘golden mile’ of independents. Inspired by Abigail and Gemma Ahern’s fresh approach to faux flowers, we put together our own mix of things we love.

What makes your shop different to others? We specialise in custom arrangements of faux flowers complete with vase. Often, customers bring in their own vase and we make a display to suit its style and their home. We love to make contemporary bouquets and hand ties, and naturalistic wedding flowers. We spice things up with contemporary objects whenever we fall for them… chandeliers, beaded bulb covers, raku ware, clay pots and planters. The rule is, if we don’t love it, we don’t stock it, and if you can’t find it anywhere else, so much the better.
