WIM­BLE­DON was, quite rightly, in your Best of Bri­tain com­pi­la­tion ( July 6). Com­pared with other ten­nis tour­na­ments, it still in­sists on the high­est stan­dards in com­peti­tors’ dress, but I’m not so sure about the of­fi­cials’ uni­forms. The Wim­ble­don sup­plier, in America, has al­ways de­signed its high­street clothes as a pas­tiche on Bri­tish style, but some of the out­fits this year were merely an ex­ag­ger­ated car­i­ca­ture. What’s wrong with us­ing Bri­tish de­sign­ers? An­thony Snook, West Sus­sex
