THE city of Bath will welcome a new neighbourhood once a former Ministry of Defence site is converted into a development of 204 Classical properties. The aim is for it to have a village atmosphere: situated in a stretch of parkland by the Kennet and Avon Canal, the development, Holburne Park, enjoys long views across Bath’s city centre. Made of Bath stone and natural materials, houses will combine period character with contemporary fittings; builders Hardrock Developments have called upon Robert Adam, the architect who created the Duchy of Cornwall’s Poundbury in Dorset. Work has now started and the first properties should be completed in early to mid 2017. CP
