SIrñwhile cy­cling near Wither­slack re­cently I hap­pened upon a beau­ti­ful sub­ject for my cam­eraé The lo­cal game­keep­erõs lit­tle daugh­ter had found a very young fallow deer en­tan­gled in one of her fa­therõs traps ear­lier in the summer and, as it was un­in­jured, she was al­lowed to take it home to rear. Con­trary to ev­ery­oneõs ex­pec­ta­tions she suc­ceeded in rear­ing her beau­ti­ful peté The lit­tle girl and her pet were very af­fec­tion­ate com­pan­ions; in­deed it was a most dif­fi­cult mat­ter to sep­a­rate them for pho­to­graphic pur­pos­esñfrank Lit­tle­wood
