As its many devotees well know, the Glyndebourne Tour has its own distinction. Less well known may be the reverse process, in which the tour premieres new productions that subsequently grace the festival stage. This year’s tour will certainly create a stir, unveiling the first-ever Glyndebourne production of Puccini’s iconic Madama Butterfly, directed by Annilese Miskimmon. Opening the autumn season at Glyndebourne from October 14 to November 4, it’s joined by a revival of Jonathan Kent’s staging of Don Giovanni and an introduction to Mozart’s opera called Don Giovanni: Behind the Curtain. All three works will visit various venues until December 10
