Man’s best friend
EW book Posh Dogs gives a round of a-paws to our canine pals, as seen in the pages of COUNTRY LIFE (Pimpernel Press, £12.99). Dogs have always been at the heart of this magazine; the very first issue, in 1897, depicted the Princess of Wales with her beloved borzoi, a chow chow, a Pekingese trio, a basset and a Scotch collie.
Most images are in vibrant colour, featuring every dog from wolfhounds to dachshunds, workers to lapdogs, puppies to pensioners, champions to cross-breeds, in all shapes and sizes, at home, at work and having fun in the beautiful British countryside.
