It doesn’t work on paper

Country Life Every Week - - Letters To The Editor -

IAM nearly 61 and no longer have pigtails, but I still have a fine collection of handkerchiefs—some lace-edged, most embroidered— which I use on a daily basis (‘A spot of hanky-panky’, September 28). When suffering with a cold, there is nothing more acceptable to sore nostrils than a cooling, smooth, white, absorbent square of cotton from my late father’s collection. As for horrid, harsh, disintegrating tissues—you can keep them! Beth Ingpen, Moray
