Holy cow!

Country Life Every Week - - Town & Country -

ALEXANDER CRESWELL, the artist famed for his paintings of Windsor Castle, commissioned by the Royal Collection, has captured the beauty and tranquility of the Surrey Hills on a rather unusual canvas—a cow. One side of Frontier Cow shows sunset over the Albury Valley, the other an urban skyline.

The life-size artwork is one of 19 cows, each by a different artist, which will be auctioned tomorrow at a gala dinner at Hampton Court to raise funds for Surrey Hills Trust and a number of other charities. Estimated at £10,000– £25,000, it is sponsored by The Duke of Northumberland and the Albury estate and half the proceeds of this particular lot (No 14) will go to Shooting Star Chase hospice. Visit www.ewbanksauctions.co.uk to place a bid and see the other cows for sale.
