Casting for a cause
FROM February 1 to November 30, 2017, fishermen across the UK can raise money in support of Marie Curie and in association with Savills. Lady Stevens, whose late husband was a keen fisherman, is the driving force behind Casting for a Cause. ‘During a sad 2014, when I lost two people very dear to me, I experienced how difficult it was to obtain a Marie Curie nurse,’ she explains. ‘There just aren’t enough nurses to help everyone who needs them. Money raised will help Marie Curie fulfil their aim of caring for more people of all ages and from all walks of life with terminal illnesses in their own homes.’
All charity-minded fishermen have to do is either host a competition on their beat or organise a fundraising event. If you’d like to help, or donate, contact Laura Baker on 020–7599 7757 or firstname.lastname@example.org and visit www.mariecurie.org.uk/get-involved/charity-events/social-events/ casting-for-a-cause for further information.
