Not as green as they seem

Country Life Every Week - - Letters To The Editor -

IAM lucky enough to live in West Horsley at the foot of the Surrey Hills, an AONB and a cycling hot-spot. Much has been written about sharing roads with vast numbers of weekend cyclists; delayed journeys, lack of road safety, the absence of common courtesy and public urination are sadly commonplace. But something that seems to go unreported is the chronic litter problem—the verge outside our house is strewn with blithely discarded foil energydrink sachets. The cyclists bring money to our local economy, but I do wish they could take home their rubbish. Nick Portet, by email
