UK has no nuclear option

Country Life Every Week - - Letters To The Editor -

KIT RAE-SCOTT misses the point regarding Hinkley Point (Letters, November 2). The UK invested billions in nuclear power, led the world, then began to exit. We no longer have the expertise to build new nuclear plants. Was it foolish to run down our nuclear industry? Unknowable, but comparing the powerful economy of nuclear-poor Germany to the weaker economy of nuclear-rich France suggests maybe not. Dr Arthur Smith, Lancashire
