1920s: Political influence
In 1926, the CPRE was formed; by 1928, it was advising Government on the design of new housing. The following year, the leaders of the three main parties—conservative, Labour and Liberal—broke off from the General Election campaign to sign a joint letter in support of the organisation’s first fundraising appeal.
