Not down with the kids

Country Life Every Week - - Letters To The Editor -

AS a millennial reader of COUNTRY LIFE, I fear Giles Kime (‘Why less is more in 2017’, January 4) may be labouring under a slight misapprehension when he suggests that L-shaped sofas might be the ideal place for a Saturday night ‘slobathon’ or, in the case of my generation, ‘a Netflix and a chill’. The term ‘Netflix and Chill’—or ‘N&C’ as it is better known—more accurately equates to what used to be called ‘horizontal jogging’. However, as he goes on to say the purpose of an L-shaped sofa is more than to ‘simply provide a quasi-bed’, perhaps he had the right idea all along! Sunny Tailor, London
