The World’s Original Marmalade Awards and Festival

Country Life Every Week - - Reel Life -

❍ Now in their 11th year, The World’s Original Marmalade Awards and Festival have been putting marmalade-making on the map since they were founded by Jane Hasell-mccosh in 2005. Sponsored by Fortnum & Mason and Mackays, they celebrate the art of preserving and the joy of marmalade in all its citrusy forms

❍ Entries come from all over the world, and winning can open serious doors—last year’s Double Gold winner Sarah Churchill now has her Seville orange and Aperol marmalade stocked by Fortnum & Mason

❍ In 2017, the awards will be at their spiritual home of Dalemain Mansion, Cumbria, for a weekend of fun, feasting and judging. Reflecting their increasing international clout (Adelaide in Australia now has its own offshoot), there’s a new category for international and Commonwealth marmalades this year, as well as an overall award for the best artisan producer

❍ The Awards and Festival will take place on Saturday, March 18 and Sunday, March 19. You can submit your marmalade for any of the categories until February 10, by which time, your entry must have been received at Dalemain. For more information and to plan your visit or competition entry, visit www.marmaladeawards.co.uk
