Letter of the week Of mouse and man

Country Life Every Week - - Letters To The Editor -

ICOULDN’T let the comment ‘little seems to be known about the Mouseman himself, although there must be people who remember him’ pass (Spectator, January 4). Robert Thompson was a great friend of my grandparents and made many things for them—our house was packed with original mice. The famous family story tells how a man in a Rolls-royce turned up and said he would buy everything, but Bob took against him and said ‘you’ll have nowt’, sending him packing, even though he could have transformed his finances in one fell swoop.
