INOTICE that in your piece about Wynnstay (Prop­erty Mar­ket, Jan­uary 25), the ar­ti­cle refers to a large part of the es­tate be­ing sold in 1948 to pay death du­ties, which re­sulted in the sev­er­ance of the Wil­liams-wynn fam­ily’s con­nec­tions with Ruabon. In fact, Wynnstay House (above) was sold in 1948 as a school, with about 50 acres for play­ing fields. Wynnstay es­tate re­mains in­tact as one of the Wil­liams-wynn fam­ily’s es­tates and the fam­ily con­nec­tion with Ruabon re­mains as be­fore. Sir Watkin Wil­liams-wynn Bt, by email
