Lozenges and loo roll

Country Life Every Week - - Letters To The Editor -

IWAS in total empathy with Ysenda Maxtone Graham’s love of top-notch choral services in cathedrals and chapels (My Week, February 15) and the article brought back so many happy memories, including seasonal juggling of throat lozenges and high notes in the congregational numbers.

My empathy even extends to grave disappointment over the evolution of the humble loo roll. Although I do not regret the passing of Bronco in draughty garden loos, the 2017 embossed Andrex is a shade pretentious for the average country home —but what choice do we have?
