120 years of Country Life interiors at Linley
Working with the most rudimentary equipment, Country Life’s earliest photographers captured england’s most beautiful rooms of both historic and modern houses. to celebrate our 120th anniversary, some of the highlights will be on show at Linley, offering a fascinating insight into the evolution of english taste during the period, with rarely seen images of Deanery garden, the house that Sir edwin Lutyens designed for Country Life’s founder edward Hudson, as well as eltham Palace and Ditchley Park. Shown here is staff photographer Alfred Henson working at old Rufford Hall in Lancashire.
