COUNTRY LIFE on tour
LAST month, I was fortunate to be able to while away some time by the side of the emerald-tiled pool at the Governor’s Residence in Yangon, Myanmar [Burma]. On a table by the pool deck, surrounded by orchids, palms and crinum lilies of Brobdingnagian proportions, I came upon this copy of COUNTRY LIFE. I noted two pieces within that referred to tropical vegetation in your neck of the woods: the camellias at Chatsworth and the palms of eastern Ireland.
