HE roar of Jaguar XKS will echo around the coun­try this sum­mer, when a fleet of the clas­sic 1950s sports cars em­barks on the Round Bri­tain Coastal Drive (RBCD), or­gan­ised by the In­ter­na­tional Jaguar XK Club. Mo­tor­sport legend Mur­ray Walker will flag the starters away from the Na­tional Mo­tor Mu­seum, Beaulieu, Hamp­shire, on June 12 and the 4,000-mile route will be com­pleted in 18 stages, with par­tic­i­pants do­ing as many days as they wish (www.xk­ It was pi­o­neered by the E-type Club last Septem­ber, when Philip Porter, co-founder with his wife, Julie, of both clubs, drove the whole perime­ter in his 1961 E-type.
