Young Frankenstein This time with laughs. Mel Brooks’s comedy parodies the Boris Karloff films, right down to being filmed in black and white and with a period score. Gene Wilder plays the grandson of the original scientist who transforms ‘an inarticulate mass of lifeless tissues’ into ‘a cultured sophisticated…man about town’. A musical version will come to the West End in September.
