The icing on the cricketer

Country Life Every Week - - Letters To The Editor -

ONE of my great pleasures in life is watching cricket, however, I find myself unable to explain to my wife why Lancashire are garbed in a sickly green material. For all my playing life, to the age of 45, white was the norm, with a bit of colour at the sock end and some stripes on the sweater. How does the modern multi-coloured cricketer smarten up with blazer and cravat? It appears the only suitable coordination is icing and sprinkles. Brian Clements, by email
