THE en­closed pic­ture was taken last week on my brother’s farm at Todd’s Brook, Har­low, Es­sex. A wild duck’s nest, con­sist­ing of 14 eggs, was taken and hatched by a white Or­p­ing­ton hen, all the eggs prov­ing fer­tile. The pho­to­graph shows these lit­tle ones en­joy­ing a bath in their wa­ter pan.—s. A. Brown
