A stitch in time

Country Life Every Week - - Letters To The Editor -

IHAVE a British-made Harris E sewing machine (Letters, February 22 and March 15), which I bought when I started work at 16 years old—i am now in my seventies. In 1967, it came out to Australia with us, then back to the UK in 1970 and, finally, we returned to Australia once more, so it’s been around a bit. It’s still going strong and I use it all the time—thank goodness for the good old machines of yesteryear. Margaret Lawman, Victoria, Australia
