EMop fight on mules

NGLISH his­tory men­tions the use of mules by var­i­ous dig­ni­taries of the Church—for in­stance, Car­di­nal Wolsey is said to have al­ways rid­den a white mule. All one can say is that if these rev­erend gentle­men pre­ferred mules for trav­el­ling in com­fort, then the mules of that pe­riod must have been ex­cep­tion­ally good or the horses most re­mark­ably bad! Al­though the mule has many good qual­i­ties, com­fort as a sad­dle hack is not one of them.
