It’s easy being green
LAST week, the long-awaited Ordnance Survey greenspace map was launched. For the first time, it clearly shows the quantity and location of accessible green space across the UK. Online and free—accessed via the OS Maps app or at www. ordnancesurvey.co.uk—the new map shows everything from public parks to allotments. Something similar was released in Scotland in 2011, which the Ordnance Survey says was the first of its kind in the world. This new map focuses on England and Wales and will ‘make it easier for people across the country to access green spaces and lead healthier lives,’ says Science Minister Jo Johnson.
