Country Life Every Week - - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR -

INOTED with interest that Mr Spilsbury invented the jigsaw in 1767 (‘50 things Britain gave the world’, July 5), but you mention an online company that ‘claims to be the biggest supplier in Europe’ with a mere 10,000 designs. Were you to visit Barney’s Newsbox in Broadgate, Cumbria, you would encounter the extraordinary sight of some 30,000 different jigsaws either in stock or available to be sent to you by mail order, alongside the latest edition of COUNTRY LIFE.
