With you in a tick

Country Life Every Week - - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR -

LAST week’s well-meant advice on how to remove a tick was awfully wrong (‘Thoroughly ticked off’, July 12)—using pointed tweezers or a wire loop only aggravates them and they fight back, zapping you with more venom. I live on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, the tick capital of Australia, if not the world, and the remedy here is simple and effective, approved by local doctors and pharmacists. You dab the tick with scabies cream or squirt it with instant wart freeze, which stuns and then kills the little bugger. After 10 minutes, you brush it off, simply and painlessly. Job done. Mike Carlton, Sydney, Australia
